FAQ: I am unable to upload my audio on the website.

There are few reasons why your file won't upload on our website:

1. If you are trying to upload directly from a CD, Cloud Storage, or from a mobile device, this may not work. The solution is to save the files on your computer and then upload them to our website from there.

2. Your browser cache/temporary internet files may be causing a conflict. Go to your Browser settings and select History and clear all browsing history. Then log out of your account on the Top Transcriptions website and close our website page and close your browser (eg. Google). Then re-open your browser and our website and try again.

3. If the file name is excessively long - try renaming it to a shorter file name.

4. The file name has more than one full stop (.) in it. A full stop represents the beginning of a file type - so whatever follows the full stop will be read as a file type. So if you have (INTERVIEW.MY FRIEND.MP3) our system will not see that file type as an .MP3 but as a .MY FRIEND.MP3 and will not upload the file as that is not a recognised audio format. In this case, INTERVIEW MY FRIEND.MP3 would work. The solution is to rename your file and just make it simple with whatever the audio type is and only have one full stop. See below for the acceptable audio types.

5. Our system accepts these audio types:
MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, AIF, WMV, MOV, AVI, VOB, OGG, AAC, WMA and AMR

6. Some Companies have IT security policies that restrict the upload of large files. If so please chat with your IT.

ALTERNATIVELY

You may send your audio files via WeTransfer- www.wetransfer.com

Note: WeTransfer is a free data transfer platform. Once on page you will see an option to upload files (audio and documents can be uploaded) and browse your computer to find them and then you add in our email address (admin@toptranscriptions.co.za) where it says "Send to" and your address where it says "Your email".

Next will be an Expiry option – select 3 days.

WeTransfer will then send a verification code to your email address to verify your email. Add this code into the Confirm email box and the files will then be sent.

Wait until the upload reaches 100% and says “Complete” before closing the WeTransfer page. You will receive a confirmation email that the files were successfully sent and when we download them, you will receive another mail saying that it was successfully downloaded.
